When a natural disaster occurs, we tend to focus on the immediate needs of those affected however, the struggle for these individuals and their families continue long after disaster strikes. The 2018 holidays are fast approaching and will be a tough time for the 911 Center/Dispatch Center personnel and their families. Many will have little to provide during a time when the rest of us will be able to enjoy as usual. Please join us as we help the 911 Center/Dispatch Center Personnel and their families, provide a little comfort and happiness in their lives during this holiday season. Florida NENA has launched a fundraising effort that will do just that, allowing you to be a part of making someone's struggle a little easier. The Florida Chapter of NENA is selling Florida Strong Challenge Coins for $20.00 each, plus $2.00 shipping & handling. All proceeds will go towards providing much needed items during the holidays.
You can also give the gift of giving and purchase a coin on behalf of someone else. Provide the name and address of the individual whom you are buying the coin for and we will provide a card insert along with the coin that says....
A donation to the FL NENA Hurricane Michael PSAP Relief Fund has been made in your honor. The donation is supporting the needs of the 911 Center Personnel and their families affected by the hurricane through the holiday season and beyond. The donation is greatly appreciated.

Today we lost a very special member of our 911 Family, Pat Welte, Duval County 911 Coordinator. Pat was an exceptional woman who was passionate about the 911 industry and for the people with whom she worked. She was one of the longest active serving 911 Coordinator in the State of Florida with over 30 years. Pat carried a wealth of historical knowledge of the 911 industry and was always willing and happy to share information with anyone who was willing to listen. Pat touched many lives here in Florida and the industry and she will be missed by all of us.
Over the next couple of weeks, her family will be making necessary arrangements. If you would like to make a donation to assist the family with this effort, please visit the go fund me site. Gofundme.com/Pat-Welte-Duval-911-Coordinator
